Dear Prospective Student,
You can now receive a thorough education in barbering and hair styling in a spacious and friendly atmosphere under the guidance of experienced and professionally trained instructors. Assuring you the best in hair styling career, SamVerly College has been licensed and approved for training by the Georgia State Board of Barbers. SamVerly College offers four courses to student.

BARBER AND HAIR-STYLING COURSE
A 1500 hour curriculum designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the Barber & Hair-styling profession. The typical completion timeline for this course is 9 to 12 months for full-time students, 15 to 18 months for part-time students, and 24 months for evening students.

BARBER II COURSE
An 1140 hour curriculum designed to prepare the student for entry level employment as a barber. The typical timeline for completion of this course is 7 months for full time students and 11 months for part-time students.

INSTRUCTOR'S COURSE
A 750 hour course aimed at further developing the practical and theoretical prowess of the licensed Barber & Hairstylist. The minimum training time for this course is 750 hours and one year enrollment. By the end of the course, the student will be ready to step into the role of instructor.

CROSSOVER BARBER COURSE
Specifically designed for the licensed cosmetologist. This 300 hour course can be completed in as little as 2 months and is designed to broaden and enhance styling knowledge and skill by providing an intensive and efficient lesson in barbering. An extended curriculum with this program provides the student with entrepreneurial skills in management and self-employment.

We understand the constant changing trends in the hair industry, thus we are aggressive in ensuring that ALL OF OUR STUDENTS are competent hairstylists; trendsetters, not followers. In addition to our educational curriculum, we also offer placement assistance to aid graduates in securing employment or starting their own business.

Monthly tuition payment plans are available for all courses.
Enrollment
Students may obtain an application form the admission’s office, either by visiting in person or by calling to have the application forwarded by mail. We do encourage that each prospective student visit the facility if possible. After submitting the application, the student will be notified by email/mail of acceptance. Furthermore, information regarding enrollment and orientation will be provided. All appropriate fees must be paid and registration forms must be completed in order to matriculate. Any applicants under 18 years of age are required to be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian. The following schedules are subject to modification.

SB10: 10 months (40 wks.) - 37.5 hours weekly - Tuesday through Saturday, 9am - 5pm
SB12: 12 months (46 wks.)- 32.5 hours weekly - Tuesday through Saturday, 9am - 4pm
Part Time:
SB15: 15 months (60 wks.) - 25 hours weekly - Tuesday through Saturday, 9am - 2pm,
11am – 4pm or 12pm - 5pm
SB18: 18 months (75 wks.) - 20 hours weekly - Tuesday through Saturday, 9am - 1pm,
11am – 3pm or 1pm - 5pm
Evenings:
SB24: 24 months (96 wks.) - 15.5 hours weekly - Thursday through Friday, 5pm - 9pm, Saturday 9am - 5pm
Barber II Course
1140 hours:
Full Time:
SBII7: 7 months (30 wks.) – 37.5 hours weekly – Tuesday through Saturday, 9am – 5pm
SBII8: 8 ½ months (35 wks.) – 32.5 hours weekly - Tuesday through Saturday 9am – 4pm
SBII11: 11 months (45 wks.) – 25 hours weekly – Tuesday through Saturday, 9am – 2pm or 12pm – 5:00pm
SBII14: 14 months (57 wks.) – 20 hours weekly - Tuesday through Saturday, 9am – 1pm, or 11a.m.- 3pm, or 1am – 5pm

Admission's Requirements
All applicants, regardless of the desired course, will confer with the admission's representative before enrolling. If this conference cannot be arranged in person, special consideration may be granted for a telephone conference. Acceptance is based solely on the student's academic history (must have a GED or High School Diploma by completion of the course to obtain a state issued license), minimum age qualification (16 years old), and personal conference, without regard to race, sex, creed, religion, financial status, or national origin. A transcript is required for students transferring from another hair styling institution.

Barber and Hair Styling Course (1500 hours) and
Barber II Course (1140 hours)
A high school diploma or GED is not required for enrolling but is required for the state board exam for licensing.
Applicants must have a minimum education of having completed 7th grade. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Instructor's Course (750 hours)
Applicants must have completed an approved course in barber/hair styling and provide a copy of transcript. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must complete an assessment examination to assure competent practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

Crossover Barber Course/Continuing Education/Salon Management
Applicants for this course must possess a state awarded barber/hair styling or cosmetology license, or provide a transcript indicating the completion of 1500 hours in either of these two courses.
The State of Georgia requires that applicants be at least 16 years of age. A GED or High School Diploma is required for State Board licensing.
